Official Update (Last made May 13th, 2020)
As Jackson County begins to slowly reopen, we want to update you on our plans going forward. REAP will continue to offer free lunches (Mon. – Thurs.) and one (1) free bag of groceries (Fridays) through the end of May. The lunches and groceries will be distributed on a ‘first come-first served’ basis, and for as long as supplies last each day.
Free lunches: Mon. – Thur. – 11:30 am – 12:30 pm
Free groceries: Friday May 15th, 22nd, & 29th – 11:30 am – 12:30 pm
REAP will begin a soft reopening period starting Tuesday, May 26th to begin scheduling food pantry and utility assistance appointments. Also, our staff and volunteers will use this time to properly sanitize the building, and learn our new operating standards and procedures. Phase 1 of reopening for client appointments will begin on June 1st. We are also working on appointments by phone for utility and rental assistance.
Clients are not allowed to enter in the building without a mask, and REAP will not be providing them. Clients must also scan and email all documentation before their appointments. We will not accept any documentation in person. Clients must remain in their cars until the time of their appointment. No one will be allowed to wait in the lobby. These new measures are for the health and safety of our staff, volunteers, and clients. We will all have to adjust accordingly and as always, will do our best to work with everyone.
For those families who find themselves in an absolute emergency situation regarding food or rental assistance, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Please visit our website to donate www.raytownreap.org/donate, or our Facebook www.facebook.com/REAPRaytown for the latest updates.
Thank you and please stay safe!
